Hi I’m Jed or better known as jed@assistasia.org. My full name is Jed Dominic Adao. I am 21 years old (as of April 2013), I currently reside in Quezon City, Philippines, a practitioner of Sociology, a comic book fanatic and a frustrated chef.

Currently, I represent the partnership of TechSoup Asia and ASSIST Asia (a nonprofit in the Philippines). This partnership is geared towards helping Philippine nonprofits to gain access to affordable software and other opportunities to learn about technology.

Every nonprofit’s journey with us begin in the same note - with a need for technology. But, as seemingly simple our services may be, we were quite surprised to learn that it actually isn’t so. From providing newfound convenience, to expanding limits, and, to discovering unexpected opportunities; there is in fact more to our services than you think – better yet than we originally thought possible.

Ginny Mies shares how telling your data visually is now easier than ever with the help of web-based infographic tools. She recently had to create an infographic for a project. This inaugural post highlights the big nonprofit technology stories of 2012, including making websites viewable on mobile phones, using mobile phones more in the workplace, cloud computing, social media fundraising, foundations and Microsoft donations, greater self-sufficiency among NGOs in developing countries, and some cutting edge things like hackathons. TechSoup partners with Microsoft to deliver technology donations and supporting services to the Asia Pacific region. Over the past year, we have been bringing donated technology from Microsoft and other tech companies to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines through www.techsoup.asia. In the coming months, we’ll be extending our reach to Indonesia and Vietnam as well.

Now we are pleased to announce an exciting addition to our programmes that will facilitate international grantmaking in Asia.
