Have you heard? Microsoft will be making significant changes to all free personal OneDrive accounts by 13 July 2016 – just a few weeks away from today. By then all new free accounts will strictly be limited to a maximum of 5 GB storage, and the previous perks of additional storage (e.g. free 15 GB for camera roll) will be discontinued.

Last 13 May 2016, Microsoft Philippines and TechSoup Asia-Pacific had successfully capped off a 2-month long series of virtual events, trainings and conferences that spanned across two cities and has catered to over a hundred or more local NGOs in the Philippines.

Conflict between armed groups and local military troops has continued to plague communities in Mindanao, Philippines. Behind the smoke and crossfire, tens of thousands of Filipinos have perished while hundreds of thousands worth of infrastructure has also been destroyed.  However, what’s worse is that an invaluable amount of opportunities are forever lost in lives of innocent children, as more and more of Mindanao’s youth continue to drop out of school due to fear, to join their kin and raise arms, or worse, as they have already succumbed to the conflict.

End of Fiscal Year

The end of this fiscal year (June 30) is coming in and fast! With a new fiscal year on its way, now is the best time to review, plan and sort out a budget for your ICT needs for the following year.

The end of a fiscal year also signifies the start of a new allotment for donors such as Symantec, Adobe, Bitdefender, Autodesk and Tableau. So, if you have already maxed out on your allowable licenses for these donors, don’t worry, by July 1 you’ll be then able to request for more licenses again!

PowerPoint Image Editing Features

When we say editing photos, would you believe me if I say that there’s a little hidden gem in our computers that can do a few (surprising) features that Photoshop also does?

Thanks to a recent session held by Microsoft experts at the Technology for Good 2016 (Philippines), I have learned that there is in fact a wide array of features hidden or unnoticed in PowerPoint that can give you basic image editing capabilities. From background removal, to color picking even up to creating composite images, let us go through some of these awesome features in PowerPoint!

Involver logo

Volunteers are like diamonds in the rough, they are just hard to find. For some nonprofits, usually the bigger and established ones, they would normally have a pool of willing volunteers whom they have worked with already, and are eagerly waiting to help again at the drop of a hat.

However, what happens if you don’t have that luxury? What is there to do when your initial email blasts and social media posts were only able to draw out tumbleweeds instead of actual responses?
