The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) was established in 1947, representing, with clear vision and professional expertise, non-governmental welfare agencies committed to sustain and develop social welfare in Hong Kong. The Council has grown since then to become an umbrella organization around 400 Agency Member, that provide over 90% of the social welfare services for those in need through their 3,000 service units all over Hong Kong. The vision of council is to build a social service sector that is highly accountable, efficient, effective and responsive to social needs, upholding the long-term sustainable development of society and the well-being of citizens. Science of Life Studies 24/7 (SOLS 24/7) is a non-governmental, non-religious organization that strives to provide the best possible education for underprivileged youth. SOLS 24/7 has 67 Training Centers located in Cambodia (since January 2000), Timor Leste (since 2006), Malaysia (since 2007), Laos (since 2010) and Thailand (from February 2011). Through a series of unique educational programs, SOLS 24/7 has touched the lives of more than 80, 000 youth in 5 countries. SOLS 24/7 has one of the worlds fastest English learning programs, where students can go from no English fluency to basic English, in six months. SOLS 24/7 provides its students with academic skills such as English, Basic Mathematics, Basic Accounts, Job Preparation and Malaysian Department of Skills Development Computer Systems Technician certificates. Students also learn to become skilled, responsible, dynamic, disciplined, compassionate and socially conscious through the SOLS Smart system of education. To truly work for the community, SOLS 24/7 also acts as a hub for blood donations, community area cleaning, vaccinations as well as partnering with other NGO’s and grassroots projects to generate a greater impact for those in need.
