Microsoft Lync Server Plus Device Client Access Licence (CAL) can be used only in conjunction with a Microsoft Lync Server Standard Device CAL. It supports the enterprise telephony capabilities of Microsoft Lync Server on one computer, regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation).
Audio, video, and web conferencing and application-sharing capabilities for Microsoft Lync Server require a separate licence, Microsoft Lync Server Enterprise Device CAL. To enable all features in Microsoft Lync Server 2010, all three CALs (Microsoft Lync Server Standard Device CAL, Microsoft Lync Server Enterprise Device CAL and Microsoft Lync Server Plus Device CAL) are needed.
Microsoft Lync Server User CALs are also available. A Microsoft Lync Server User CAL allows one user to access additional features in Microsoft Lync Server 2010 or Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 on any number of computers or other devices (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home).
Licence Only: This licence does not require media, licence keys, or setup codes.
Software Assurance: Under the Software Assurance program, you have the right to install any new release of products covered in the agreement during the term of your coverage.
