This free webinar, on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 11 a.m. Pacific time, will outline best practices for diversifying your organization’s funding mix through foundation grants. The Foundation Center will provide an introduction to Foundation Directory Online Professional, their comprehensive database of U.S. grantmakers and their grants, as well as free online tools offered through their site.
How does your organization find funding? Libraries and nonprofits rely on philanthropy and grants to further their mission, but finding funding for new projects can be a challenging process.
The Foundation Center is the largest producer of directories and databases of grantgiving foundations. Their goal is to connect nonprofits to grantmakers.
The Foundation Center provides many tools, including an "Online Librarian," print resources, and a website for finding foundation profiles, trends in grantmaking, and top foundations by geographic region.
They offer free online training resources to help libraries and nonprofits navigate the world of philanthropic giving. Their training tools can help you learn more about grant funding, whether you are a beginner or an experienced grantseeker.
Their online resources include the Foundation Directory Online, a comprehensive database, featuring more than 100,000 grantmaker profiles and information on over 2 million grants. Robust search tools allow you to locate potential funding based on geographic area, subject, and recipient type.
Foundation Center resources are also available in more than 450 learning centers, including public libraries, community foundations, and educational institutions around the world.
George Ford and Kim Patton, experts from the Foundation Center, will give a guided tour of the Foundation Directory Online and some of the free training resources that are available.
