Payments

Having some issues related to settling the administration fees? Here are some quick tips about the most frequently asked questions that can help you sort that out.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Credit card

TechSoup Asia use PayPal as our credit card gateway. You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay via Credit Card. To pay by credit card, follow these steps:

  1. Log in then click on "My Orders".
  2. Follow the prompts until you reach "Place your Order" and reach the PayPal Page.
  3. After you have entered the details on the "Pay with credit card or log in" page, the next screen should ask you to "Review Your Payment".
  4. You will then need to click on the orange link to pay your account.
  5. You will then be taken to a screen that will thank you for your payment and provide you with a receipt ID.
  6. At this stage the workflow will update to “Completed” and you have made your payment.

Click here for more information regarding PayPal. Through Paypal you can pay either via a credit card (Visa or Mastercard), or you can pay via a direct deposit. The process to pay via a credit card is the first option you will be given, but if you need to pay via a direct bank deposit you will first need to register an account with paypal.

Once you have registered an account with Paypal you will have the option to add funds to your Paypal account from your nominated bank account and hence pay for your TechSoup Asia items. Please note that it can take Paypal up to 5 days to verify your account to accept direct bank deposit payments.

Wait, don't have a Paypal account? Don't worry, here's a step-by-step tutorial that will help you create one in an instant: Setting up a Paypal account.

Miscellaneous Reminders

  • Delivery time and charges

Though almost all of the software donations are now mainly acquired through download, organizations can still choose to request for Microsoft installer discs to be shipped directly to their office. Take note, having the installer discs shipped to your office will not incur any additional charges at all and is entirely for free.

On the other hand, shipping is usually estimated to take between 10 to 14 days, or to a maximum of 28 days, from the day the payment has been received.

  • Bank fees for cheques and bank transfers

Take note that our bank account is in Australia, being handled by our Australian partner Connecting Up. That said, settling your fees through either a bank transfer or cheque will incur additional charges from your bank. To know how much these additional charges would be, do kindly contact your bank for more information.

  • Bank fees for online payments (Credit Card/PayPal)

Though paying in PayPal or Credit Card would traditionally not incur additional charges, we have had instances before wherein banks have charged minimal admin fees for processing online payments for orders made from foreign countries. These charges will not be reflected in your final invoice in TechSoup as these are charged by your bank. For more info on the amount to be charged or if there is a charge at all, kindly contact your bank prior to placing an order.

  • Processing time for payments

Choosing to pay online (credit card or Paypal) or offline (bank transfer or cheque) can have varying processing times. For online payments (credit card or Paypal), payments are almost instantaneously received, so you can expect your orders to be accomplished just as quickly.

On the other hand, choosing to pay through offline methods (bank transfer or cheques) can take a bit of a while before it's received. Usually, bank transfers would take 1 week, while, cheques would usually take 2 weeks. Take note that these processing times could still vary based on various factors.

  • Changing Payment Methods

Once your order has been marked as pending, unfortunately, changing payment methods will no longer be possible unless you get tin touch with customerservice@techsoup.asia or your country's local agent.
